How often, honestly?

Some salons will happily see you every fortnight. I'd rather tell you the truth: here's how often lashes and brows actually need doing, and when booking sooner is just spending money.

Good definition should survive real life between visits

There's a version of this article that quietly nudges you to book everything as often as possible. This isn't that article. Lashes and brows run on biology, specifically on hair growth cycles, and no amount of enthusiasm changes how fast hair grows. So here is the schedule I actually recommend to my own clients, treatment by treatment.

Lash lift: every 6 to 8 weeks

A lash lift lasts the lifetime of the lashes it's set on. As they naturally shed and new ones grow in straight, the lift softens gradually, usually noticeable from week six. Booking before six weeks means re-processing lashes that are still curled, which risks leaving them brittle. If your lift still looks decent at week seven, wait. Your lashes will thank you, and the next lift will take better on fresher growth.

Brow and lash tint: every 3 to 4 weeks

Tint fades in two ways: the colour softens on the hair, and tinted hairs shed and get replaced. For most people that means three to four weeks of good colour, a little less in summer, because sun and swimming fade tint faster. If you're heading on holiday, book the tint two or three days before you fly, not the morning of, so the colour settles first.

Brow shape: every 3 to 4 weeks, with a caveat

A shape holds its line for about three to four weeks of regrowth. The caveat: if we're growing your brows into a new shape, longer gaps are sometimes part of the plan. Stray hairs that look like they need removing are often exactly the hairs we need for the fuller shape you want. This is the one treatment where "leave it longer" can be an upgrade, so ask before you tweeze anything at home.

Dora's tip

The cheapest way to keep brows and lashes looking done is pairing treatments cleverly. A tint added to your lash lift, or a shape and tint together, costs less time and money than separate visits, and everything fades on the same schedule. I'll happily map your combination out with you.

The realistic yearly rhythm

  • Lash lift: roughly 7 to 8 visits a year.
  • Brow shape and tint: roughly every month, often combined into one short appointment.
  • Special eye treatment: as and when your eye area needs a boost, not on a fixed clock.

Signs you've left it too long

Waiting too long isn't harmful, it just undoes progress. If your brows have fully lost their line, a shape takes longer and we may be starting the mapping again from scratch. If half your lashes are new straight growth, you're past the point where the lift was doing anything for you. The sweet spot is booking when the treatment stops looking intentional, not when it has vanished completely.

And if you're genuinely unsure whether it's time? Send me a photo. I'd honestly rather tell you "give it another week" than take your money for a treatment your lashes don't need yet. That's how you keep clients for eighteen years.
